RACINE, Wis. - After another day in the pool of breaking records, recording individual season bests, and improving lifetime bests the University of Minnesota Morris women's swimming & diving team sits in third place with one more day of competition to go.
Brynna York broke open the scoring for the Cougars with an incredible first place finish in the 3 Meter Diving. York posted a score of 289.30 to round out her final day of diving.
A trio of Cougars were the first to score for the swimmers, placing fourth, fifth, and sixth in the 400 Yard IM. Shannon Dougherty (4th) swam a time of 5:13.76 closely followed by Kennedy Olson (5th) who marked a time of 5:15.79. Abby Doyle (6th) finished just after her teammates with a time of 5:19.71.
Lilly Radintz earned a fourth place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:02.07 to keep Minnesota Morris' trips to the medal stand rolling.
McKenna Falak wrapped up the night for the Cougars with a fifth place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke. Falak posted a score of 1:02.87 in the event to score for her team.
Women's swimming & diving also secured a school record in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. The team of Falak, Kaitlyn Mello, Radintz, and Faith Hamm smashed the previous record from 2016 with a time of 1:55.24.
The Cougars stare down the final day of the Liberal Arts Championship which kicks off tomorrow (Feb. 15) at 9 AM with the finals to follow at 5:30 PM.
