Men’s Swimming & Diving Take Over Four More School Records

RACINE, Wis. - The University of Minnesota Morris men's swimming & diving team took day three of the Liberal Arts Championships by storm, earning four school records and placing one athlete on the medal stand. The Cougars also spent the day shattering season and lifetime bests across the board. 

John Gulon was the lone Cougar to climb the medal stand on day three after earning fourth place in the 100 Yard Backstroke. He swam a time of 52.16 in the race to add points to Minnesota Morris' score. 

Austin Dunn earned his second individual school record of the championship meet with a time of 4:32.33 in the 400 Yard IM. Ryan Erickson followed his teammate's lead, solidifying his name as the Minnesota Morris school record holder in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 56.82. Dillon Thorstad wrapped up the individual record breaking with a 1:01.90 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke to put his name in the record book. 

The 200 Yard Medley Relay of Gulon, Jakob Linscheid, Louie Freeman, and Thorstad posted a time of 1:39.17 to set the new school record. 

The Cougars stare down the final day of the Liberal Arts Championship which kicks off tomorrow (Feb. 15) at 9 AM with the finals to follow at 5:30 PM.
