ST. PAUL, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Morris men's track & field team excelled at the Gene Glader Classic, with eight athletes record top-five finishes and two athletes finishing first in their respective events.
Izayah Boss kicked things off for the Cougars with a first place finish in the 60 Meter Dash while running a time of 7.14. He followed up that performance with a first place finish in the 200 Meter race, finishing over a second ahead of his competition with a personal record of 23.25.
Noah Johnson kept things rolling with a personal record of 54.59 in the 400 Meter race to take first.
Azariah Zappetta finished just behind his teammate with a time of 55.46. Tyler Franke rounded out the top finishes on the track with a personal record of 2:23.29 in the 800 Meter run to finish in fifth.
On the field side of things
Evan Barnett and
Mason Arens finished second and third in the high jump, clearing heights of 1.75m and 1.65m respectively.
Minnesota Morris will head to Superior, Wis. next week (Feb. 28 - Mar. 1) to finish out the indoor season at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.
