Bruhn and Grove Represent Minnesota Morris for UMAC Athlete of the Week

MORRIS, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Morris Cougars had two athletes who were recognized as Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week for their performances. Allison Bruhn from women's tennis and Maddy Grove from women's basketball have more than earned their conference accolades.

Bruhn, a junior from Willmar, Minn., was a critical part of women's tennis securing their first win of the season. Playing in the No. 1 doubles spot, she and her partner earned a 6-1 win over Buena Vista University. She then went on to play in the No. 1 singles match, winning in a dominant 6-3,6-0 fashion.

Grove, a sophomore hailing from Morris, Minn., led the Cougars to a split against UMAC competition last week. She posted 28 points in women's basketball's win over Bethany Lutheran College and another 34 points against the University of Wisconsin - Superior to average 31 points on the week. She also pulled in 11 rebounds for the Cougars on the week. Grove averaged a conference-high 18.2 points this season and totaled up 454 points.
