Boss Takes UMAC Title in 60m Race

SUPERIOR, Wis. - The University of Minnesota Morris men's track & field team wrapped up day two of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference with a fifth place finish as a team. The Cougars had a day filled with season bests and personal records throughout the track and field events.

Izayah Boss got things rolling for the Cougars with a first place finish in the 60m dash. His time of 7.04 ties his personal record that he achieved earlier this season. Earning personal records in the 800m race, Azariah Zappetta (2:05.07) and Noah Johnson (2:05.95) finished in seventh and ninth place in the event. Boss finished his day at the UMAC Championships with a sixth place finish in the 200m run with a time of 23.21. 

Gregory Ohman earned the top finish in the field events for Minnesota Morris, marking a distance of 11.84m (38-10.25) in the Shot Put to take ninth place. Tyler Franke cleared 2.80m (9-02.25) in the Pole Vault to take tenth place overall.

The 4x400m relay of Brett Bartkowicz, Zappetta, Johnson, and Sam Gifford ran a collective time of 3:44.19 to finish fifth in the field of competition. 

The Cougars will take next weekend off before jumping right back into action at the Marauders Outdoor Invite on Mar. 22.
