Box Score SAN DIEGO, Cali. - The University of Minnesota Morris women's tennis team suffered a 0-6 loss to Mount San Antonio College in their first match of Spring Break.
The Mounties jumped out to an early lead in doubles play with a 6-1 win in the No. 1 match, a 6-0 win in the No. 2 match, and a 6-4 win in the No. 3 doubles.
Allison Bruhn and Valerie were the No. 1 pairing for the Cougars,
Marybeth Tautges and
Kristen Muller were the No. 2 pair, and
Mariah Mireles and
Ava Weber were the No. 3 pairing for Minnesota Morris.
Mount San Antonio continued their sweep in singles play where Bruhn (No. 1) and
Kristen Muller (No. 2) both lost their matches by scores of 3-6,3-6 and 1-6,1-6 respectively. Mireles (No. 3) fell in 2-6,0-6 sets, while Kelm (No. 6) came close to a victory in sets of 5-7,6-7. Weber (No. 5) took her match to three sets with scores of 4-6,6-4,3-10.
Minnesota Morris will compete again on March 12 in an 11:00 AM match against Hope International University and a 4:00 PM match with San Diego City College.
