Dak and Grove Take Home All-Region Honors

MORRIS, Minn. - Pal Dak and Maddy Grove, the talks of University of Minnesota Morris basketball over the last few years, have been named to the D3hoops.com 2025 All-Region 9 (encompassing all of Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) Second and Third teams respectively. Out of 789 eligible players nominated, Dak and Grove were selected as part of the 16 athletes on both the men's and women's side who received All-Region 9 honors. 

In his final season for the Cougars, Dak was named both UMAC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in addition to being placed on the First Team All-UMAC and Defensive All-UMAC Team. Leading Cougar men's basketball to their first UMAC championship in 31 years and the #2 seed in the conference tournament, the Lincoln, Neb. native surpassed the 1,000 point mark early this season and scored a team-high 488 points. Averaging an incredible 32.6 minutes per game, 18.8 points per game, and six rebounds per game, it is clear to see why Dak has received these honors. Men's basketball finished 13-13 overall and 10-4 in UMAC play with Dak tearing up the floor.

A weapon on the floor for the Cougars, Grove finds her way to the Third Team All-Region 9 for the second year in a row in addition to her UMAC Player of the year and First Team All-UMAC honors. The product of Morris, Minn., Grove averaged a team-high 18.2 points per game, leading Minnesota Morris in points, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage. Grove finished the season with 454 points to jump to fourth all-time in program history. She was also second on the teams in rebounds with 3 per game, assists with 2.2 per game, and steals with 1.5 per game. With Grove stretching the floor, the Cougars went 11-14 overall on the season and 9-5 in UMAC play, just missing a UMAC tournament berth.
