MORRIS, Minn. - Four student-athletes from the University of Minnesota Morris men's and women's basketball teams have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Teams®.
Dom Aguilar and
Thomas Tiernan represent Cougar men's basketball, while
Maddy Grove and
Claire Stark are representing women's basketball in this award.
Aguilar, a senior guard from Fergus Fall, Minn., will graduate this Spring with a degree in exercise science. Aguilar was a critical member of the men's basketball team this year, earning UMAC accolades over the season while boasting an impressive 3.96 GPA. He was a recipient of the UMAC Player of the Week award (2/11) and was named to the All-UMAC Second Team in his final year of collegiate basketball.
Tiernan is a junior guard from Morris, Minn., and has earned multiple academic honors this season while playing basketball and maintaining a 3.61 GPA. He will graduate from Minnesota Morris with a degree in elementary education. At the conclusion of the 2024-25 season, Tiernan was named to the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society in addition to receiving Academic All-District Honors.
Grove, a sophomore guard from Morris, Minn., maintained a 3.87 GPA this season while picking up multiple UMAC accolades. This season, she was named the UMAC Player of the Year and a First Team All-UMAC athlete in addition to being named UMAC Athlete of the Week three weeks in a row. Grove is currently pursuing a degree in sport management from Minnesota Morris.
Stark, a sophomore forward from Hoffman, Minn., picked up All-District accolades for her impressive 3.97 GPA. She is a business and management major at Minnesota Morris, and was a steady presence in the post for the Cougars this season.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
