Eight Swimming & Diving Athletes Earn All-LAC Accolades

MORRIS, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Morris men's and women's swimming & diving teams had eight athletes place top three in one or more events at the Liberal Arts Championship (LACs). These athletes have earned All-LAC honors for their work at the championship meet as either an individual or as part of a relay team. John Gulon was the lone men's swimmer to earn this honor. On the women's side Shannon Dougherty, McKenna Falak, Faith Hamm, Lilly Radintz, Kennedy Olson, Brynna York, and Samantha Haaf were All-LAC recipients. Head swimming & diving coach David Molesworth also received the title of Diving Coach of the Meet.

The women's swimming & diving team had three relays represented on the podium. The 800 yard freestyle relay of Dougherty, Falak, Hamm, and Radintz secured second place with a time of 8:08.14. Swimming a time of 1:40.76 in the 200 yard freestyle relay, Radintz, Olson, Hamm, and Dougherty came in third place as a team. The final relay of Radintz, Hamm, Falak, and Dougherty took third place in the 400 yard freestyle with a time of 3:14.58.

On the individual side, Falak made two appearances as the third place medalist in both the 500 yard freestyle and the 1650 yard freestyle. She swam a time of 5:22.78 in the 500 and secured a school record of 18:36.58 in the 1650. York also made a splash in her first appearance at LACs, earning the title of Diver of the Meet while taking first place in both 3 meter diving and 1 meter diving with scores of 289.30 and 290.90 respectively/ Haaf was the final women's individual with a top-three finish, coming in second in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:24.78. 

Gulon ended the meet with two third-place finishes to secure his All-LAC title. He swam a time of 52.15 in the 100 yard backstroke, and secured a time of 1:55.63 in the 200 yard butterfly.
