Cougar Athletics Announces 2025 Hall of Fame Inductees

MORRIS, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Morris Athletics Department is proud to introduce the six-person Class of 2025 to be inducted into the Cougar Athletics Hall of Fame. Consistent with previous years, the Cougar Hall of Fame brunch will be held on Saturday Oct. 4th as a part of the Homecoming 2025 festivities. More details regarding the celebration will be released in the coming months.

Dave Engelhardt
A member of the athletic training staff from 1973-1981, Dave Engelhardt was responsible for all aspects of athletic training for all Minnesota Morris teams as he navigated being the only staff. A few of his duties included managing and administering care while organizing and maintaining facilities for all Cougar student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Despite this, he was a part of and contributed to multiple championships for the Cougars during an unparalleled time of highly competitive teams at UMM. Through his work as an athletic trainer, Engelhardt touched hundreds of student-athlete lives through his assistance, guidance, and advice.

Mark Fohl
In his incredible 30 year (1985-2015) tenure at Minnesota Morris, Fohl influenced thousands of lives through his roles as an assistant football coach, head baseball coach, head golf coach, and director of athletics. As the athletic director, Fohl oversaw immense change within Cougar Athletics including the transition from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and Division III and membership into the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). Four Cougar teams earned trips to the NCAA National Tournament and Cougar student-athletes continued to improve both in the classroom and on the field of competition with Fohl at the helm of the athletic department. Minnesota Morris facilities also underwent change in his tenure, most notably the addition of Big Cat Stadium and the soccer field.

Rich Glas
Rich Glas, a former assistant men's basketball coach (1971-1974), head men's basketball coach (1974-1979), assistant football coach, and track & field coach at Minnesota Morris, collected a plethora of accolades in his coaching career with the Cougars. In his time as the head men's basketball coach, Glas led his team to NIC championships in 1977 and 1978 and was named Coach of the Year at the conclusion of both seasons. In his five years as the head men's basketball coach Glas secured an 89-44 record (.669 winning percentage), the highest of any Minnesota Morris men's basketball coach, and a 47-21 conference record (.691 winning percentage). Glas coached in the NAIA tournament in 1977 and the NCAA Division III regional tournament in 1978 and 1979. 

Emily Mehr
Emily Mehr was a key contributor to the success of women's basketball in her four year career from 2009-2013. With Mehr at the helm, the Cougars went 53-3 in regular season conference play, earning four conference championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances. She boasts an impressive collection of accolades from her four years; UMAC Freshman of the Year, UMAC Player of the Year, Honorable Mention All-UMAC, Second Team All-UMAC, First Team All-UMAC (x2), Fifth Team DIII News All-American, Second Team DIII News All-West Region. Mehr currently ranks fourth all-time in career points for women's basketball with 1542.

Brendon Foss
As a three year starter for both the football and men's basketball teams from 2010-2014, Brendon Foss sprinkled his name throughout both record books. As an offensive play for the Cougars Foss still holds multiple top-five records including ranking fifth in single-season receiving yards (890), third in single-season receiving touchdowns (11), fourth in single-season receiving touchdowns (10), and second in career receptions (190). He is also in the record book as second in career receiving yards (2,714) and first in career receiving touchdowns (32). Foss picked up First Team All-UMAC, Second Team All-UMAC (x2), and CoSIDA First Team All-American accolades. As a men's basketball athlete, Foss was a defensive powerhouse. He still ranks fourth in career steals (138), third in career blocks (97), fifth and ninth in single-season rebounds (203 & 190) and fourth and sixth in single season blocks (34 & 28). He also ranks ninth in career field goals made (374) and eighth in free throws attempted (343). Foss earned First Team All-UMAC, Second Team All-UMAC, Honorable Mention All-UMAC, and All-Defensive Team honors.

Kaylie Clark
A dual-sport athlete in volleyball and track & field from 2010-2014, Kaylie Clark picked up multiple records and accolades in both sports. As a volleyball player, Clark is tied for tenth in career aces (140) and holds the number three spot in career digs with 1972. She earned multiple UMAC accolades in her four seasons with the Cougars; First Team All-UMAC (x3), Honorable Mention All-UMAC, UMAC Defensive Player of the Year (x2), and UMAC Player of the Week (x7). In the field for Minnesota Morris track & field, Clark has placed her name in both the indoor and outdoor record books. She is currently ranked sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.66m (48-1.25) and eighth in the hammer throw with a toss of 44.69m (146-7). Clark holds the program record in the javelin throw with a mark of 43.07m (141-4), which she achieved at the DIII Outdoor National Championships along with a 6th place finish. Clark earned a UMAC Championship in the javelin throw, and was named an NCAA All-American for her performance.
