MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris Men's Cross Country team was slated sixth in the 2025 Upper Midwest Athlete Conference Coaches Poll announced on Friday.
"I'm really excited about the ambition these young men have," said head coach
Caroline Collet. "We've got big goals in our sights, and a bunch of healthy intra-squad competitive spirit that is going to translate well once we get on the starting line. We're a young team, and I'm really excited to see the athletes grow together over the course of the season. I think the guys are dedicated to closing the gap to front runner
Noah Johnson so they can put together not just great individual performances, but a great team race as well."
Last season at the UMAC Cross Country Championships, the Cougars placed fifth overall. Johnson paced UMM in the post season meets as a freshman. He returns for his sophomore season. The Cougars added three new runners to the roster for the 2025 season.
The Cougars start their season on Aug. 30 at the John Kurtt Invite in Waverly, Iowa.
