MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris Cross Country teams will open the 2025 season on Friday at the John Kurtt Invite, hosted by Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.

The men's team will begin the competition with a 6k race at 10 a.m., followed by the women's 5k at 10:30 a.m. Both races will take place at the Max Cross Country Course. This marks the first time Minnesota Morris has competed in the John Kurtt Invite.

Caroline Collet enters her first season as head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs. In the UMAC Preseason Coaches Poll, both Cougar squads were selected to finish sixth. Last season,
Noah Johnson led the men's team, while
Sylvia Pesch paced the women.

Competing for the men's team this weekend are Johnson,
Ethan Koehler,
Daniel Decory,
Tyler Franke,
Connor Bickford, and
Reese Bickford. Decory and
Reese Bickford will be making their Cougar debuts.

The women's team will feature five runners at the meet: Pesch,
Lindsey Hause,
Hannah Robertson,
Ava Miller, and
Abhi Seelam. Both Miller and Seelam will make their collegiate debuts.
