Johnson leads Cougars at John Kurrt Invite

WAVERLY, Iowa – The University of Minnesota Morris Men's Cross Country team finished fourth at the John Kurt Invitational on Saturday morning in Waverly, Iowa. Junior Noah Johnson led the Cougars with a time of 22:23.6.

"It was a beautiful day to run, and we got out there and had a lot of fun tackling a 6k, which is a new distance for our men's team," said head coach Caroline Collet. "It's a fun way to open a season- with an automatic best time to celebrate- and the guys got after it with a great attitude."

The hosts, Wartburg College, won the meet with their top five finishers all placing in the top seven. Eli Larson claimed first place with a time of 18:25.0. Minnesota Morris finished fourth in the 6k race, with Johnson leading the way.

All Cougars set personal bests in the 6-kilometer race.
