Men’s Golf finishes 10th at Twin Ports Collegiate

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's golf team placed 10th out of 13 teams at the Twin Ports Collegiate in Superior, Wisconsin. The two-round event was highlighted by Mathias Warrington, who led the Cougars with a total score of 155 (+11).
 
Host school University of Wisconsin-Superior claimed the team title, narrowly edging out the College of St. Scholastica by one stroke. Individually, Andrew Slatten won the tournament after carding a 70 (-2) on the second day to finish two strokes ahead of the field.
 
After the first round, the Cougars sat in 10th place with a team score of +40. They improved by nine strokes on day two but remained in 10th overall.
 
Warrington led Minnesota Morris in both rounds, shooting 79 (+7) on day one and 76 (+4) on day two. The senior tallied six birdies across the tournament—three in each round—and moved up five spots on the leaderboard to finish 21st.

The Cougars return to action on Sept. 11 at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Preview, held at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker, Minn.
