SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's golf team placed 10th out of 13 teams at the Twin Ports Collegiate in Superior, Wisconsin. The two-round event was highlighted by
Mathias Warrington, who led the Cougars with a total score of 155 (+11).
Host school University of Wisconsin-Superior claimed the team title, narrowly edging out the College of St. Scholastica by one stroke. Individually, Andrew Slatten won the tournament after carding a 70 (-2) on the second day to finish two strokes ahead of the field.
After the first round, the Cougars sat in 10th place with a team score of +40. They improved by nine strokes on day two but remained in 10th overall.
Warrington led Minnesota Morris in both rounds, shooting 79 (+7) on day one and 76 (+4) on day two. The senior tallied six birdies across the tournament—three in each round—and moved up five spots on the leaderboard to finish 21st.
