ST. PAUL, Minn. – After scoring 45 points in a game,
Kaden Pieper on the University of Minnesota Morris men's basketball team was named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Athlete of the Week for the period of Jan. 5–11, as announced Tuesday, Jan. 13.
This is Pieper's first UMAC Player of the Week honor and becomes the third Cougar men's basketball player to be recognized, join
Matt Thompson and
Carvin Fish.
Pieper started UMAC play by scoring 45 points in the win at Martin Luther College, the second most points in a game in program history. In the victory, he shot 76.2 percent from the field, 5-of-8 from behind the arc, and 8-of-12 at the free throw line. He also totaled four rebounds, four steals, and two assists. In the following game against No. 19 Gustavus Adolphus College he added 19 points to his total and had three steals and one rebound.
The Cougars continue UMAC play on Wednesday as they host North Central University at 7:15 p.m.
