ST. PAUL, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris tennis team was selected third in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll announced on Wednesday. Head Coach
Dimitri Sofias enters his first season with the program.

"I am excited to be entering my first season as head coach for Morris Women's Tennis," said coach Sofias. "The team has a good variety of experience returning and our tough schedule in the beginning of the season will get us ready for our conference schedule. I am looking forward to seeing the team compete, the growth over the entirety of the season and competing for a playoff berth."

Last season Minnesota Morris finished fourth in the conference going 2-3. The Cougars return their top athlete in
Allison Bruhn. She finished her junior season on a high note winning her final match 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (13-11). UMM also returns
Katharine Kelm,
Mariah Mireles,
Katelyn Money,
Kristen Müller, and
Jhazlyn Wynne. New to the team this season are
Avery Davis,
Malak Rawash, and
Maryam Rawash.

Minnesota Morris starts the season on January 31 at the GAC UMD UMM Triangular where they will play the University of Minnesota Duluth and Gustavus Adolphus with the matches starting at 3:30 p.m.
