NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's track & field team opened the 2026 season at the Ole Opener on Saturday in Northfield, Minn. One of the highlights of the meet was
Amaya Willis winning the weight throw.

To begin the track events,
Mary Watry ran the eighth-fastest time in program history in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 10.56. In the 60-meter,
Nibras Luqman recorded her best time of the season, finishing just .04 seconds off her career best. Luqman also placed 10th in the 200-meter with a time of 28.29.

In the field events, Willis won the weight throw with a personal-best mark of 14.47 meters, while
Siri Overturf finished sixth. In the high jump,
Lindsey Hause placed sixth with a height of 1.46 meters, the ninth-best mark in program history.
Kylie Elmes led UMM in the shot put with a throw of 9.88 meters.
