MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's basketball team will play a pair of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference games this week, starting on the road at Crown College on Wednesday with a 7:15 p.m. tipoff, followed by a 4:45 p.m. home game against the University of Wisconsin–Superior on Saturday in Morris, Minn.

Last week, Minnesota Morris played in a pair of UMAC games, going 1–1 to move its conference record to 2–1. The Cougars opened the week with an 80–74 victory over North Central University, led by
Carvin Fish, who recorded 19 points and 12 rebounds. Following that game, UMM fell 88–79 to the University of Northwestern. Fish again led the team with 29 points and was later named UMAC Athlete of the Week.

The Cougars have three players ranked in the top 10 in conference scoring. Fish leads the team and ranks third in the UMAC, averaging 18.8 points per game.
Kaden Pieper follows at 17.0 points per game, ranking sixth in the conference, while
Matt Thompson is ninth overall, averaging 15.9 points per game. As a team, Minnesota Morris ranks third in the conference in scoring, averaging 77.1 points per game, while shooting the third-best 44.0 percent from the floor.
Gustav Gunderson is second in the UMAC with 62 assists.

Defensively, Thompson leads the team in rebounds with 131, followed by Fish with 115. Fish also has a team-high 45 offensive rebounds. As a team, UMM has recorded 97 steals, with Pieper leading the way with 21 and Gunderson adding 19. Fish ranks third in the UMAC in blocks with 17.

Crown enters the week with an 8–7 overall record and a 2–1 mark in UMAC play. Last week, the Polars went 2–0, defeating Bethany Lutheran College 78–69 and North Central 88–85. Luke Herbert is in his 16th season as head coach of the Polars. Anthony Knight leads Crown in scoring with 258 points, while defensively, Tyler Smith leads the conference with 182 rebounds and 61 blocks.

UW–Superior is 5–11 overall and 1–2 in conference play. Last week, the Yellowjackets played one game, earning their first conference win with a 76–59 victory over Martin Luther College. Head coach Greg Polkowski is in his ninth season with the program. Four Yellowjackets have scored over 100 points this season, with Evan Bennett leading the team with 179 points, while Landen Thomer leads the team with 148 rebounds.
