COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's track & field team finished fourth at the CSB/SJU Alumni Meet on Saturday afternoon in Collegeville, Minn.
In the track events,
Mary Watry qualified for the 60-meter final after placing seventh in the preliminaries. In the final, she ran a personal-best time of 10.39 to place sixth, marking the eighth-fastest time in program history. In the 60-meter prelims,
Nibras Luqman and
April Knight both qualified for the finals. Luqman ran a personal-best time of 8.51 to place second, while Knight finished eighth. Knight later scored for the Cougars with a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter.
In the field events, the Cougars had four athletes place in the top eight of the shot put:
Kylie Elmes,
Amaya Willis,
Samantha Dotzenrod, and
Payton Stangl. Elmes paced the team with a fourth-place finish and a throw of 10.11 meters. The Cougars also had a strong showing in the weight throw, with three athletes cracking the top 10: Willis,
Siri Overturf, and
Kat Placido. Willis placed third in the event.
The Cougars will compete next on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the St. Olaf Invitational.
