MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's tennis team has announced its 2026 schedule. The Cougars will compete in 20 matches under first-year head coach
Dimitri Sofias.
The season gets underway on Jan. 31, when Minnesota Morris will compete in a triangular with Division II University of Minnesota Duluth and Gustavus Adolphus College. The first match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The Cougars will play another pair of matches on Feb. 6 in Grand Forks, N.D., against two Division II teams: the University of Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State University.
Road action continues as UMM travels to Minneapolis, Minn., to take on St. Catherine University at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 14. A week later, on Feb. 22, the Cougars will face Buena Vista University at a neutral site in Owatonna, Minn. Before Minnesota Morris departs for its spring break trip, the team will travel to Bemidji, Minn., to play the University of Wisconsin–River Falls and Bemidji State on Feb. 28.
The Cougars will play five matches in four days while in Orlando, Fla., competing at the USTA National Complex. Play begins March 9 with a match against Bryn Mawr College. Over the next two days, UMM will face Piedmont University and Wheaton College (Ill.). On the final day in Orlando, March 12, the Cougars will take on Loras College and Saint Mary's College (Ind.).
Upon returning, Minnesota Morris will host its first home match against Division II University of Jamestown at 1 p.m. on March 15. The final nonconference match before league play begins is against the University of Northwestern on March 21.
Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action begins March 28 when the Cougars travel to Waconia, Minn., to face Crown College at 1 p.m. After a week off, UMM will host Bethany Lutheran College on April 11 at 1 p.m., followed by its final home match against Northwestern on April 14.
Down the final stretch of the regular season, the Cougars will take on the 2025 UMAC Champion University of Wisconsin–Superior on April 19. Later that day, Minnesota Morris will also play a nonconference match against the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. The regular season concludes April 24 as the Cougars face Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minn.
