MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris golf teams will compete in a two-day event at the Sword and Shield Invite. Day one will be played at Crow River Golf Club in Hutchinson, Minn., on Friday, with the event wrapping up Saturday at Oakdale Golf Course in Buffalo Lake, Minn.
Last week, the Cougars competed in two events, the Polar Invite and the Cougar Invite. The men's team placed third in the first event before winning the Cougar Invite for its first event victory of the season. The women's team placed third in both events.
Kaden Burshiem led the men's team with a fourth-place finish at the Polar Invite before winning the Cougar Invite with a score of 67 (-3), earning him Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week honors.
Jacob Steinmetz and
Peyton Mithun each finished second for the Cougars in one of the two events last week.
After leading the Cougars during the 2025 season,
Bailey Broich made her season debut at the Cougar Invite. Broich carded a 102, while
Bonita Young followed with a 108. At the Polar Invite,
Merill Wiley paced the team with a 109, followed by
Ava Miller.
