NEW ORLEANS, La. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's and women's cross country teams were named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams, as announced on Feb. 11.
Â
"Our student-athletes really take the "student" component seriously," said head coach
Caroline Collet. "I'm really proud of the hard work they put in this fall to prioritize their studies, even when we were on the road for meets! I should have known we were going to be in a good spot academically when the team was all in on a PowerPoint presentation night as a team bonding activity!
Â
Managing time as a student-athlete can be a big challenge, but this team makes it look easy. I know it's not as easy as it looks, and I'm honored to have athletes on the team that are dedicated to not just handle being a student-athlete, but handle it with skill.
Â
A special shoutout to my 4.0 ladies and gentlemen--I'm impressed by you every day!"
Â
To earn the honor, the team as a whole must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale. The men's team held a 3.25 GPA to earn the honor, while the women posted a 3.58.
