ST. PAUL, Minn. – Amaya Willis of the University of Minnesota Morris women's track and field team has earned her third Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Athlete of the Week award for the period of Feb. 9–15, as announced Tuesday, Feb. 17.
 
The track and field team competed at the CSB+SJU Valentine's Day Open, where Willis led the Cougars in the weight throw. The Bismarck, N.D., native placed third, finishing behind only Division II athletes. Willis leads the conference in the weight throw by over a meter with two weeks remaining before the UMAC Indoor Championship.
 
The track and field team travels to Mankato, Minn., for the Maverick Open on Friday for its next competition.
