MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's basketball team hosts Crown College in the semifinals of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m.

In the final week of the regular season, the Cougars went 1-1 to finish second in the UMAC with a conference record of 8-4. Minnesota Morris started the week at Bethany Lutheran College, where they fell 108-91.
Carvin Fish led the scoring for UMM with 21 points, with
Kaden Pieper following with 18. To close out the regular season, the Cougars defeated the University of Wisconsin-Superior 73-67.
Matt Thompson led the team with 21 points, missing only one shot, while Fish recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
This season, Fish leads the team in scoring with 507 points (20.3 points per game). Pieper and Thompson followed with 443 and 336 points, respectively. As a team, the Cougars lead the UMAC, averaging 86.1 points per game while shooting 47.8 percent from the field, the second-best mark in the conference.
Gustav Gunderson leads the team with 97 assists.
Defensively, Fish also leads the team in rebounds with 191 and is sixth in the conference, averaging 7.6 per game. Thompson ranks fifth in the conference with 7.7 rebounds per game (176 total rebounds), and Pieper ranks eighth at 6.5 rebounds per game. Minnesota Morris leads the conference in rebounding at 39.5 per game. Fish also leads the team with 25 blocks.
Crown finished the regular season with an overall record of 14-11 and a 7-5 mark in the UMAC, finishing third. Last week, the Polars defeated UW-Superior 70-53 and the University of Northwestern 85-66. Anthony Knight leads Crown in scoring with 433 points. Tyler Smith leads the conference in rebounds, assists, and blocks.
The Cougars defeated the Polars in both matchups during the regular season, 79-66 and 90-75. In game one, Fish, Pieper, Thompson, and
Thomas Tiernan all reached double figures, with Fish leading the way with 28 points. He also recorded a double-double, adding 10 rebounds. In game two, Pieper and Thompson each recorded a double-double, with Fish leading the team in scoring with 23 points.
