SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's track & field team placed fifth at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday in Superior.
Mary Watry started the second day of the meet with the sixth-fastest time in program history in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing fifth with a time of 9.84.
Nibras Luqman scored for UMM in the 200 meters with an eighth-place finish. In the 3,000 meters,
Sylvia Pesch set a personal best and placed third with a time of 11:07.06, which ranks as the eighth-best time in program history. To close out the track events, the team of Watry,
Lindsey Hause,
Eve Zimmerman, and
Lilly Ronholdt finished sixth in the 4x400-meter relay.
Kylie Elmes,
Natalie Enright, and
Samantha Dotzenrod all scored for the Cougars in the shot put, with Elmes leading the way with a fifth-place finish. Watry added another strong performance in the triple jump, placing fourth, while Hause also scored with an eighth-place finish.
The Cougars begin outdoor action on March 28 at the Optimist Meet in Collegeville.
