WACONIA, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's tennis team was defeated 5-2 in its first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference match on Saturday in Waconia, Minn.
Kristen Müller and
Mariah Mireles earned the two points for UMM.
In doubles play, UMM kept the matches close but ultimately dropped the point. At No. 1 doubles, Müller and
Jhazlyn Wynne were defeated 6-4, while Mireles and
Katharine Kelm fell 7-5.
In singles, Müller went 2-0, winning her sets 7-6 and 7-5 at No. 2 singles. Mireles also secured a victory at No. 3 singles, winning 6-3, 6-3. Kelm won the second set of her match but fell in the third.
Katelyn Money won four games, and Wynne added three.
The Cougars return to action on April 11 when they host Bethany Lutheran College at 1 p.m.
