MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris softball team heads to Hawaii for eight games during spring break. The Cougars return to action on March 9 with a 2 p.m. game against Kenyon College.

The Cougars have started the season 1–3 and last played on Feb. 22. Minnesota Morris ended its trip to the Mankato Dome with a 6–5 win against Hamline University. In the win,
Alyssa Thornton and
Mary Landherr led the team with two hits each, while Thornton totaled a game-high three RBIs.
Morgan Wilhelm started the game in the circle, pitching 5.2 innings. Thornton pitched the final 1.1 innings to earn the win.

This season, Landherr leads the team with a .429 batting average, with
Ro Diver and Thornton following at .286.
Olivia Losee leads the team in extra-base hits. Thornton leads the team with a team-low ERA and has four strikeouts.
