Box Score NEW ULM, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's tennis team narrowly fell to Martin Luther College, 4–3, in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play Friday afternoon in New Ulm, Minn.
The Cougars won two of the doubles matches to earn the first point of the contest. In the No. 1 pair,
Katharine Kelm and
Mariah Mireles won 6–1. At No. 2,
Kristen Müller and
Jhazlyn Wynne also secured a 6–1 victory.
In singles play, Mireles won in straight sets, 6–2 and 6–1, at No. 2. Kelm also earned a singles win at No. 3. After dropping the first set 6–2, she took the second set 6–1 and won the final set 10–8. Wynne won six games at No. 4, while Müller added three game wins and
Avery Davis won one. The Cougars did not have a No. 6 dropping that point in the close contest.
