ST. PAUL, Minn. – Jordan Ohman led the University of Minnesota Morris women's track & field team with a second-place finish in the discus at the Rider/Bolstorff Invite on Saturday in St. Paul, Minn.
The team of
April Knight,
Nibras Luqman,
Eve Zimmerman, and
Lilly Ronholdt opened the track events for UMM, placing fifth in the 4x100-meter relay.
Lindsey Hause and
Ava Miller followed with second- and fourth-place finishes, respectively, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. In the 1,500 meters,
Sylvia Pesch ran a personal best of 5:15.02 to place 16th. Luqman recorded a season-best time of 13.40 in the 100 meters. In the 400-meter hurdles, Zimmerman set a new personal record, placing 12th with a time of 1:15.45.
In the field events,
Jordan Ohman led UMM in the hammer throw on the first day, placing eighth.
Siri Overturf and
Kat Placido followed in 13th and 14th, respectively. On the second day,
Samantha Dotzenrod and
Gretchen Andresen placed 13th and 14th, respectively, in the javelin. The top performance of the meet came from Ohman, who finished second in the discus with a season-best throw of 39.08 meters.
Payton Stangl led the Cougars in the shot put with a season-best mark of 9.82 meters.
The Cougars will compete next week at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Championships in Superior, Wis.
