MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's and women's track & field teams are scheduled to compete in two meets this week in Mankato, Minn. The Cougars begin action on Wednesday at the Stomper Opener and will return to Mankato on Saturday for the Maverick Open.

The outdoor season began on March 28, when the Cougars competed at the CSB/SJU Optimistic Meet. Hayden Charboneau had the best placement for the Cougars, finishing 10th in the 110-meter hurdles. Jerome Thomas III placed 11th in the 100 meters. In the field events, Thomas Finneran-Flyckt led the Cougars in the hammer throw, while William Urch and Lucas Tauber had the best results for UMM in the javelin and shot put, respectively.
 
On the women's side, Mary Watry recorded two top-10 performances in program history. In the 100-meter hurdles, she placed seventh with the ninth-fastest time in UMM history, and then placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles with the 10th-fastest time. Siri Overturf and Kat Placido placed seventh and ninth, respectively, in the weight throw, and Payton Stangl led the Cougars in the discus with a 12th-place finish.
