MORRIS, Minn. – Seven members of the University of Minnesota Morris men's and women's swimming and diving teams were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced April 7.
To qualify for the award, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50, and compete in at least 90 percent of the team's events or start in at least 66 percent of them.
On the women's team,
Shannon Dougherty,
Kennedy Olson,
Rylie Wendt, and
Natalie West all earned the honor.
This marks Dougherty's second time earning the distinction. This season, she recorded seven top-six finishes at the Liberal Arts Championships. Her best individual performances came in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle, where she placed third in both events. Dougherty also served as a team captain during her senior season.
Olson earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive season. At the Liberal Arts Championships, the Moorhead, Minn., native posted three top-six finishes, with her best result coming in the 200-yard butterfly, where she placed third.
In her first year of eligibility, Wendt was named CSC Academic All-District. The sophomore diver finished second in the one-meter diving event at the Liberal Arts Championships and added seventh-place finishes in both the 100- and 200-yard backstroke.
West earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the second time in her career. At the Liberal Arts Championships, she recorded a sixth-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle and placed in the top 12 in both the 200-yard backstroke and 500-yard freestyle. West also served as a team captain during the 2025–26 season.
On the men's side,
Austin Dunn,
Riley McRoberts, and
Dillon Thorstad earned the honor.
Dunn received CSC Academic All-District recognition for the first time in his career. The sophomore swimmer recorded five top-six finishes at the Liberal Arts Championships. His best individual performance came in the 200-yard backstroke, where he placed third. This season, Dunn set two program records in the 100-yard butterfly and 400-yard individual medley (IM) and was part of three relay teams that set program records.
McRoberts, also a sophomore, earned CSC Academic All-District honors for the first time. At the Liberal Arts Championships, he recorded two top-six finishes, including the 200-yard backstroke and as a member of the third-place 800-yard freestyle relay team. This season, McRoberts helped set a program record as part of the 800-yard freestyle relay team.
Thorstad, also in his first year of eligibility, was named CSC Academic All-District. At the Liberal Arts Championships, the West Fargo native recorded five top-six finishes. His best individual result came in the 100-yard breaststroke, where he placed fifth. Thorstad set four program records during his sophomore season, including one in the 100-yard breaststroke and three as part of relay teams.
