ATLANTA, Ga. - The University of Minnesota Morris women's basketball team was recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), earning Special Mention in the WBCA Academic Honor Roll, announced on July 21.
 
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs, inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. To be recognized, a team must have a combined GPA of 3.0 or better and be nominated by its head coach, who must be a WBCA member. The 2025-26 season marks the 31st year the WBCA has compiled the Academic Honor Roll. Special Mention is awarded to teams that finish outside the Top 25 but still meet the academic qualifications.
 
Minnesota Morris posted a 3.556 team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year to earn Special Mention from the WBCA. The Cougars also had nine student-athletes earn individual academic honors from the UMAC.
