MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris Women's Cross Country team was ranked sixth in the 2026 Upper Midwest Athlete Conference Coaches Poll announced on Thursday.
"I'm very excited for this season," said head coach
Caroline Collet-Cruise. "We have a phenomenal group of young women ready to chase down goals together. The Cougar returners are awesome leaders, and they're joined by a strong class of incoming runners. I'm thrilled to be hosting a home meet this year on Friday, September 11th out at Pomme de Terre Golf Club--this is the first time we get to race at home in a number of years!"
Last season, the Cougars finished fifth in the UMAC Cross Country Championship.
Sylvia Pesch led UMM in her junior year, placing ninth, earning UMAC All-Conference Second Team honors. Minnesota Morris returns four athletes from the 2025 season.
The Cougars start their season on Sept. 4 at the Dragon Twilight Invitational in Moorhead, Minn.
