MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris golf teams will compete in their first two-day meet of the season at the Twin Ports Collegiate in Superior, Wis., on Friday and Saturday. The men will tee off first on Friday at 9:25 a.m., with the women following at 10 a.m. On Saturday, both programs have an 8:30 a.m. tee time.
 
Last week, the golf teams competed at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Preview in Becker, Minn. The men's team placed third out of seven teams, eight strokes out of first place. Kaden Burshiem led the team, finishing tied for first after 18 holes with a score of 72. After the playoff hole, he finished the event tied for second. Paxton Sivonen and Jack Boos rounded out the top three for UMM, carding a 76 (+4) and 77 (+5), respectively.
 
The women's team finished sixth at the UMAC Preview. Merill Wiley placed 25th overall to lead the Cougars. Gianna Klarenbeek and Kaylie Schmitz followed, while Fiona Jiang rounded out the team scorers for UMM.
 
Last season at the Twin Ports Collegiate, the men's team finished in 10th place, while the women's team came in eighth.
