MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris golf teams will compete in two events this week, starting with the Polar Invite on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Cougars will then host Crown College for a dual meet on Friday at Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course in Elbow Lake, Minn.
 
The Cougar golf teams are coming off their first two-day tournament at the Twin Ports Collegiate in Superior, Wis. The men's team finished sixth out of 17 teams. After the first day, Minnesota Morris was tied for eighth before improving by 17 strokes on day two. Kaden Burshiem and Alexander Munson led the team with scores of 155 (+11). Burshiem had an impressive second day, shooting a 71 (-1).
 
The women's team finished 14th at the Twin Ports Collegiate. Merill Wiley had the best score for the Cougars, shooting a 210 over 36 holes. Kaylie Schmitz and Bonita Young rounded out the top three scorers for UMM. Young recorded the most pars on the team at the event.
