MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris Cross Country teams start the 2026 season as they travel to Moorhead, Minn., for the Dragon Twilight Invitational.

The women's race will be run first at 8:10 p.m., and the men will follow at 8:40 p.m. The women will run a 5k to kick off the season while the men run a 6k. This is the second consecutive year the Cougars will compete at the Dragon Twilight Invite.
 
Caroline Collet-Cruise enters her second season as head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs. In the UMAC Preseason Coaches Poll, both Cougar squads were selected to finish sixth. Last season, Noah Johnson led the men's team, while Sylvia Pesch paced the women.
 
Competing for the men's team this weekend are Johnson, Ethan Koehler, Daniel Decory, Tyler Franke, Connor Bickford, George Deedrick, William Lange, Ben Larson, Eathan Laurtisen, and Xander Zuech.
 
Representing the women's team are Ava Miller, Erin Thesing, Isabelle Derhak, Lindsey Hause, Morgan Widell, and Pesch.
