MOORHEAD, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's cross country team competed in its first meet of the season at the Dragon Twilight Invitational Friday night in Moorhead, Minn. Senior Sylvia Pesch led the Cougars with an 18th-place finish as the team placed seventh.
 
The University of North Dakota won the meet, taking the top seven places. Shewaye Johnson won the individual title for UND with a time of 17:17.6.
 
Pesch led the Cougars with a time of 20:44.2, which was the seventh-fastest time among Division III athletes. Megan Widell, Erin Thesing, and Isabelle Derhak all made their collegiate cross country debuts.
