MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris golf teams travel to Becker, Minn., for the first time this season to compete in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Preview. The men's and women's teams will both tee off at 10 a.m. at Pebble Creek Golf Club.

Both programs competed at the Northwestern Invite on Sept. 1 to kick off the 2026 season. The men's team tied for fifth after shooting a 303, the program's best result in the last 10 years. Paxton Sivonen led the team with a score of 75 (+3). Kaden Burshiem, Alexander Munson, Peyton Mithun, and Jack Boos finished one stroke behind Sivonen.
 
The women's team placed seventh in its opening tournament. In her Cougar debut, Merill Wiley recorded UMM's best score with a 112 while competing as an individual. Among the team's five golfers, Kaylie Schmitz posted the best result with a 117. Also scoring for the Cougars were Gianna Klarenbeek, Ava Miller, and Fiona Jiang.
 
At last year's UMAC Preview, the men's team finished fifth, while the women placed seventh.
