Tony Krueger

Tony Krueger was named the Director of Track & Field in 2019 after serving as an assistant coach with the Cougars for seven seasons. He primarily works with the mid-distance and distance events. Along with being the Director of Track & Field, he is the head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs.

While a member of the coaching staff, Krueger has led the Cougars cross country program to 32 All-UMAC honors, three All-Region awards, and one All-American award in cross country. In 2019, Krueger was named UMAC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year after the Cougars produced the conference champion and four of the top eight runners at the UMAC Championships. His track distance athletes have earned more than 60 All-UMAC awards. Cougar runners have also excelled in the classroom during his tenure, having won USTFCCCA All-Academic team awards in 2012, '14, '18 and '19.

As a student, Krueger was a member of the track & field team for four years and was also a captain of the first-ever men's cross country team in 2007.

Krueger received his Bachelor of Arts in history from UMN Morris and Master of Education from UMN Duluth.

He and his wife, Miranda, also a UMN Morris track and cross country alum, reside in Morris with their three children.
