Assistant women’s basketball coach Amy Balk begins her sixth season on the Cougar staff in 2012-13.
	Since joining the staff, Balk has been part of a team to improve their finish each season, going from third in 2007-08 to second in 2008-09, before breaking out with UMAC titles in 2009-10,  2010-11 and 2011-12.
	Prior to coming to Minnesota Morris, Balk spent the 2006-07 season as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kans. During the 2004-06 seasons, she was an assistant coach at her alma mater, the University of Saint Mary, in Leavenworth, Kans.
	Balk is a 2005 graduate of Saint Mary’s, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in sports management with minors in General Business and Coaching.
	A native of Mora, Minn., Balk began her collegiate career playing at Dakota State in Madison, S.D. from 2000-03, before closing her career at Saint Mary’s for the 2003-04 season.
	"Amy is involved in all aspects of our program and has done a tremendous job in helping us compete at the top of our conference," head coach Tim Grove said.
	Balk also serves as the Cougars assistant equipment manager.
