Emily Hoesing

Emily Hoesing begins her second season as the head men's and women's cross country programs in 2024. Hoesing will also serve as an assistant coach for the track & field teams.

A 2021 graduate of Buena Vista University with degrees in Art Education and Spanish Education, Hoesing was a key member of the BVU women's cross country program and earned All-Region recognition in 2019. Additionally, she was named the program's Most Valuable Runner for four straight seasons and took home the honor of Outstanding Female Student Athlete of the Year at Buena Vista in 2019. For her work in the classroom, Hoesing was named All-Academic by the American Rivers Conference from 2017-22, was the Spanish Education Senior of the Year in 2021, and was the President of the Sigma Delta Pi Spanish Honor Society from 2017-21. Hoesing went on to earn a Master's degree from BVU in 2023 in Curriculum and Instructional Leadership with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language.

While on the coaching staff at Buena Vista as a graduate assistant, Hoesing had a successful recruiting plan that resulted in the men's and women's programs doubling in size during her tenure. Hoesing helped the men's program to their best ARC finish in more than a decade, while the women's program finished in seventh place at the conference meet.
