2016-2017: Freshman season - As a Freshman Caitlin made an instant impact on the program in a lot of events. At the Liberal Arts Championship she finished all three of her individual events in the top 5. In the 200 IM she finished in third place, in the 400 IM she was the runner up, and helped the 800 Free Relay to a third place relay earning herself All-Conference honors in all three events. She also finished in fifth place in the 200 back, along with relay legs on the 5th place 200 Free Relay, 6th place in the 400 Medley Relay, and 7th place in the 400 Free Relay. In her first season as a Cougar she set three individual school records; 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 Back, and one as part of the 800 Free Relay.
