Krystal Kemp was hired as the assistant softball coach in the summer of 2026.
Prior to UMM, she served as an assistant softball coach at Southern Virginia University. During the 2025 season, she helped lead the team to a fifth-place finish in the USA South Conference. Kemp also served as a graduate assistant coach at Randolph College in 2024.
Kemp played four seasons at Southern Virginia. During her senior season, she was named to the USA South First Team All-Conference. She finished her career as the program's all-time leader in hits, RBIs, and home runs. She also recorded 151 career strikeouts in the circle.
Kemp graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology with a coaching concentration from Southern Virginia and earned a master's degree in coaching and sport leadership from Randolph College.
