The Minnesota, Morris men's and women's soccer teams will begin the second season on Nov. 2, as they begin play in their respective conference tournaments.

There is still much to play for in 2010, as the Conference Tournament Champions receive an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament, beginning next week. In addition to winning the conference tournament title, the men and women can earn Minnesota, Morris' first berth in the NCAA Soccer Tournament as a Division III institution.

Fresh off a tie with them to end the regular season, the third-seeded men will return to second-seeded Bethany Lutheran for their semi-final match-up. The Cougars finished the regular season with an 8-4-2 mark in UMAC play, and a 9-6-4 record overall. The Vikings wrapped up at 9-4-1 in league action and 12-7-1 overall.

In their two meetings in the regular season the Cougars went 1-0-1 against the Vikings, winning 1-0 in Morris on Oct. 1, before the 0-0 (2OT) tie last Saturday.

The Cougar women ended as the fourth seed, and must now head north to face regular season champion St. Scholastica. The Saint's went unbeaten through the UMAC regular season, finishing 13-0-1 and 14-4-2 overall. The Cougars, meanwhile, went 7-5-2 in conference action and 8-9-2 overall.

The Saint's swept the Cougars this season, taking a pair of close one-goal matches. On Sept. 25 in Duluth the Cougars fell 1-0, and on Oct. 17 in Morris, UMM dropped a 2-1 decision.

Each match can be followed with live stats, courtesy of Bethany Lutheran and St. Scholastica. The men will kick off at 2:00 p.m. and can be seen here, while the women start at 11:30 a.m. and can be followed here.

Should the Cougars advance, the UMAC Championship games will be played on Saturday, Nov. 6, at the site of the highest remaining seed.
