Box Score

Ashland, Wis. – The University of Minnesota, Morris women's soccer team struggled to score goals today (Sept. 26), in a 2-0 loss to Northland College.

After opening UMAC play 2-0, Minnesota, Morris (3-6-0, 2-2-0) has now lost two straight and sits at even on the season after two weeks on league play.

Northland (3-7-0, 2-3-0) got one goal in each half to crawl within a game of the .500 mark in conference play.

The Cougars weren't held scoreless for lack of chances, as they outshot Northland 11-to-7 in the match, including a 6-to-2 difference in the second half. An efficient LumberJill team landed five of those seven shots on goal, with two finding the back of the net.

The Cougars were less successful with only two of their 11 shots going on goal. Taylor Meehan (Alexandria, Minn.) and Leah Parker (Minnetonka, Minn.) each had a shot in goal in the match, with Meehan leading the way with three total shots.

Four players had multiple shots on the day, and in all six different players fired off at least one shot.

Emily Jacob (Minneapolis, Minn.) played all 90:00 minutes between the pipes, and falls to 3-5-0 in the season.

Next up the Cougars return home to host Bethany Lutheran and Martin Luther on Oct. 1 and 2 respectively.
