New Ulm, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris women's soccer team charted a 4-0 win over Martin Luther today (Oct. 1), their third consecutive multiple-goal game, with all coming in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action.

Morris (6-4-0, 4-2-0 UMAC) got their scoring from four different players, with a pair of goals in each half. Martin Luther (5-3-0, 2-4-0 UMAC) used a pair of goalkeepers in the match, but it made little difference as the Cougars found the net on each.

Ally Heida opened the scoring just under 14:00 minutes in, netting her third goal of the season. Scoring leader Christina Mollan put the Cougars up 2-0 with her sixth goal of the year at the 32:58 mark, and the score would stand until the second half.

Zoe Bergstrom scored her second in the 61st minute, and Kelsi Kolle closed the scoring in the 80th minute with the first goal of her career.

The Cougars have now scored 14 goals in their last three games since being shut out by St. Scholastica on Sept. 23. Morris has registered multiple goals in seven of their 10 games this season, including six the last seven.

They have also posted back-to-back shutouts for the first time this season, and the first since early October last season. The Cougars took 17 shots in the match while limiting the Knights to two, and held a 6-to-0 edge in corner kicks, the second time this season they've held and opponent without a corner.

Morris takes a break from UMAC action early next week, hosting Augsburg on Oct. 4 at Cougar Field at 3:30. They're then off for the weekend, before getting back on the road on Oct. 15 and 16 at Northland and St. Scholastica respectively.
