Morris won 3-0 over Bethany Lutheran on Sept. 30 and 4-0 over Martin Luther on Oct. 1. Christina Mollan led the way with two goals in the win over the Vikings, while four different players did the damage against the Knights.

Northland is coming off a win in their most recent outing, taking a 3-2 victory from Northland International College. The LumberJills scored a pair of late second half goals to break their two-game skid. On Oct. 7, they lost a 7-0 match to St. Scholastica, with the Saints scoring just nine minutes in, on their way to a 35-to-3 edge in shots and the seven goals.

St. Scholastica won in their only game last week, taking a 7-0 win over Northland on Oct. 7. The Saints got on the board first in the just the ninth minute, and took a 2-0 lead into halftime, before pouring on five more goals in the second half, including two in the final 20 minutes. They got all their scoring from just three players.

Earlier this season
Morris had its best offensive day of the season against Northland in their first meeting. Leah Parker scored three goals and Zoe Bergstrom had four assists as the Cougars piled up a 7-1 win. Taylor Meehan, Christina Mollan, Rachel Berns and Sarah Timpane also added goals as the Cougars racked up 23 shots in the victory.

In their first meeting with St. Scholastica, the Cougars played one of the best matches they ever have against the Saints. Despite putting up nine shots and five corner kicks, the Cougars were forced to go to overtime before falling 1-0. The Morris defense also came up big in forcing the extra session, turning away 19 CSS shots, including 10 saves from keeper RiAnne Metz. Then with the only shot in overtime, the Saints won it, scoring in the 95th minute.
