Last time out
Last week, the Cougars went unbeaten, playing a pair of double overtime games to do so. The weekend began with a
2-1 victory over Northland, scoring in the first minute of the second overtime for the win. A day later, the Cougars defended 22 St. Scholastica shots, to hold on for a
0-0 tie after 110:00 minutes.
Northwestern also tied and won last week, taking a
1-1 decision with Bethany Lutheran, after beating Martin Luther
2-1. The Eagles went up 2-0 over the Knights on their way to the win, and against the Vikings scored early in the second half to pull even for the tie. Also in nonconference action earlier this week, Northwestern won
2-1 in overtime over Hamline.
Crown went 0-1-1 last week, tying Bethany Lutheran
1-1, before falling
1-0 to Martin Luther. The Vikings went up 1-0 early in the second, but the Storm answered just minutes later and held on for the tie. Against Martin Luther, the Knights scored in just the 14th minute, and made it stand up to top the Storm.
Earlier this season
In their first meeting, the Cougars dropped a crazy
3-2 match to Northwestern, with the Eagles scoring in the final 30 seconds for the win. The goal erased a furious comeback by the Cougars, where they scored twice in the final three minutes to even the score.
Against Crown in the UMAC opener, the Cougars scored once in each half to take a
2-0 win. The Cougars controlled the entire match, firing off 35 total shots on the day.
