Hosting the final game of the season against Bethany Lutheran on Cougar Field, the Minnesota Morris women's soccer team will also be hosting Kicks Against Breast Cancer, to help raise breast cancer awareness.

The Cougars and Vikings will kick off the day at 12:00 p.m., but before the team will be tabling in the Student Center holding a silent auction.

The silent auction is to raise awareness of breast cancer. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to KICKS Against Breast Cancer (KICKS). This non-profit organization promotes women's health and well being by emphasizing the importance of early identification of breast cancer and providing essential resources to patients undergoing treatment.

In addition, a close friend of UMM Women's Soccer Coach Dan Magner, Charlotte Moran, lost her battle with cancer on May 18th, 2009. Charlotte was involved in KICKS and many other efforts to promote awareness.

Please place your name, bid amount and email address on the sheets in the Student Center Lobby and we will contact you if you have a winning bid when we close bidding on Saturday, October 29th at 12noon (then come and catch our game vs. Bethany Lutheran College !)

Items you can bid on include:

-A size 1 Select soccer ball with Breast Cancer awareness symbols, ($15 minimum bid)

-A US Women's National Soccer Team Breast Cancer awareness hat (5 to be bid on, $10 minimum bid)

-UMM scarf (5 to be bid on, $10 minimum bid)

-ADIDAS hoodie with UMM Soccer crest (2 available, 1 small, 1 medium, $25 minimum bid)

With a loss by Northwestern to Northland on Friday, a win by the Cougars – coupled with a Northwestern loss to St. Scholastica – will moved the Cougars into a second place tie in the final UMAC standings. Northwestern holds the tiebreaker, however, meaning the Cougars will still be on the road to face the Eagles in the first round of the UMAC Tournament.
