The Minnesota Morris women's soccer team will look to take the momentum from their 4-1 win last Saturday over UW-Superior into UMAC play, beginning this weekend.
On Sept. 16, the Cougars are in St. Bonifacious to take on
Crown, and on Sept. 17 they face
Northwestern, playing at Mounds View High School in Arden Hills.
The Cougars enter the game with an even 2-2 mark, while the Storm are still looking for their first win at 0-3 on the year. Saturday opponent Northwestern, enters the weekend 1-3, earning their first win over Jamestown in their last match.
The Cougars swept through these opponents at home last season, beating Crown 5-0, and taking a 2-1 victory from Northwestern in overtime. The road, however, was a different story, as they fell 1-0 to Northwestern and saw their output drop to just two goals in a 2-0 win over Crown.
The Cougars own the reigning UMAC offensive and defensive Players of the Week in forward
Christina Mollan (Menomonie, Wis.) and goalkeeper
RiAnne Metz (Bismarck, N.D.), as the two led the Cougars in the 4-1 win.
The Cougars six goals allowed are a league best, while their goals against average of 1.48 ranks second.
